Tasty Tulsa Digs in with a B. A. Italian Favorite – Napoli’s
Deep in the heart of Green Country lies some of the friendliest folks you’ll ever meet, some of the coolest art deco architecture in the nation, and, nestled behind burgeoning banks and Quik Trips, lies some of the tastiest food around. Here at Tasty Tulsa (brought to you by Jennifer, Jason, and daughter Natasha Hall & Christine and Eric Rankin), our mission is to travel through this heart of greenness, find the very best in cuisine in the Tulsa area, and bring our findings straight to you.
We begin with appetizers and desserts at our favorite Broken Arrow Italian restaurant, Napoli’s…
My sister (and fellow TT blogger) Christine and I each ordered a glass of Mirassou Pinot Noir from their modest wine menu. The glasses were $6 each and were pleasant and mild.

Then they brought out the shining star of the night – a generous bowl of braided bread:

Napoli's Stellar Bread
This bread is the best bread that I’ve had anywhere. Period. And that alone makes a trip to Napoli’s worthwhile. It’s light and fluffy, fresh and very flavorful, and comes with a perfect blend of olive oil and herbs for dipping.
For our appetizer we had the Sliced Italian Sausage (sauteed in olive oil, garlic, shallots, basil, marinara sauce, and sherry wine) for $4.95. Again, like the bread, we got a generous portion and the dish had wonderful robust flavors:

And finally we ordered two desserts for the four of us to share (Christine, her husband Eric who will also be writing for the site, and my daughter Natasha) – we got the Tiramisu and the Black Forest Cheesecake.

Napoli's Desserts
The Tiramisu cake part was moist and the cream was the perfect texture. The flavors were subtle, in fact too subtle for Eric and Christine, however I found it to be quite tasty.
While I thought that the Black Forest Cheesecake was pretty good, Christine and Eric thought it left something to be desired as the texture wasn’t the smoothest as far as cheesecakes go and the cherries tasted like Maraschino cherries rather than fresh cherries.
Despite that, the experience was all in all a very good one, and Napoli’s remains one of my very favorite Italian spots in the Tulsa area.
